"Beating" Fighting Games

Okay, so I have recently been very active in the backloggery. It's a fun thing, keeping track of my games and having different themes for my currently favorite games at the time.

However, there is a question that has arisen... How do you know when you've "beaten" a fighting game? Is it just when you see the credits like with every other game? But technically that would just mean beating Arcade or Story Mode with just one character, then voila! You have beaten the game. Is it really that simple? Either that... Or is beating the game a lot more difficult and requires beating the game with every character? But doesn't that count towards 100% Completion? In Smash Bros. I could have considered myself beating the game after I've unlocked all the characters and stages. But what if the fighting game doesn't have unlockable characters or stages? It's a mystery... If you guys who still actually visit my blog read this post. Please give me your opinion of when we technically have beaten a fighting game. You can use examples from past experience if you want!

Such is my predicament. With Battle Fantasia and Street Fighter IV, have I already technically beaten them by beating Arcade/Story mode once and seeing the ending credits? Or... Is there something MORE I have to do? In Street Fighter IV, I suppose I could say that I haven't beaten the game yet until I've unlocked Seth, but that would be a very tedious process... The same can be said for Battle Fantasia as well, as I still have The End of Deathbringer to unlock, although he technically won't ever appear on the character select screen as you have to choose him in a certain way after meeting the requirements, which is pretty much beat Story Mode 100% with each character. Which is also a VERY long and tedious process.

Any opinions are welcome. XD

So Much To Deal With...

Way too much drama within the past week... Glad it's over with. I'm away from the dorms for the weekend, so I suppose it's good to get away for a bit...

Of course, finals are coming up... And those aren't fun at all. Also, I've got a paper to write for my History class that's due next Monday... Rawr.

I've already signed up for my classes next quarter, they include: Japanese 3, Science Words: Greek and Latin Roots, Art History: Western Art: Baroque to Modern, and hopefully my first upper-division class: The Supreme Court and the Constitution.

I'm hoping that next quarter won't be too tough, but I can't be certain about that, considering how lazy I am...

On a different note, I have finally acquired my Atelier Vocal Historia and Tales of the Abyss Image Album! Also, I got my Luca Truelywaath figurine (And still haven't opened it because I'm too afraid to...), Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2, Devil Summoner, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, Street Fighter IV (The Collector's Edition), and will be getting Star Ocean: The Last Hope once I get back to school.

Yes, my backlog is DEFINITELY building up.

Not to mention Resident Evil 5, Pokemon Platinum, Mana-Khemia: Student Alliance, and Devil Summoner 2 coming in within the next few months... Among others.

Gah... I need more money and time. >__<

Meanwhile, Street Fighter IV is definitely a game that brings everyone together. We've been playing it non-stop since I got it... And well, I suck! Having Sakura doesn't help me at all... I was never good at fighting games to begin with I guess. However, it is still a lot of fun at times. although losing does suck, I just need to practice some more I guess.

I'm finally in the Tower of Ar tonelico II... Does that tell you how close I am to the end? D:

Once again, once I'm not lazy. I'll post photos of my new collectables. XD

Hmm...

I haven't been blogging a lot at all as of late...

In fact, I haven't even been chatting, foruming, or doing a lot of internet stuffs much at all as of late...

I still HAVE been doing stuff like that, but they seem to be waning more and more everyday.

I have come to the realization that I have finally made some of the greatest friends I will EVER have during my second year of college. I've even already slept over one of their houses... And I've NEVER done that before. Life is pretty good in terms of my social life... I still get sad and emotional sometimes, but that's only because of certain circumstances... Overall, I am actually a lot a lot happier than ever before because of all the wonderful people I have come to know in the past several months...

This is also including those people I have met over the internet like Thunder-kun, Lazy, Kazu-kun, Deciare, Ayame-chan, Starry-sama, and Orpheon-sama. Thank you all SO much for being there for me, and sorry for not being able to chat as often as before! You guys truly are awesome people that I am grateful to get to know! I love you all! ^^

Especially since I had the BEST BIRTHDAY OF MY LIFE! I'm so thankful to have met such wonderful people who I can never doubt!

I made this lovebar with the intention of spreading the love for all the playable Reyvateils. As for my progress with AT2... I'm in Phase 5, about to sing Viena. Chroche-sama is love as expected! Luca is pretty cool, and Jakuri is undoubtedly the best character in the game. Despite how badly NISA messed up my favorite game ever, I can still enjoy it... Although I am very disappointed that I have to go through certain means of actually having the full experience of it... Hopefully I'll have access to being able to playing the game with the full Japanese voice track soon enough...

I also made a fanclub known as the Church of Pastalia on the Ar tonelico: A Reyvateil's Melody forums... But that's not very important I suppose. XD

Also, I cannot wait for Street Fighter IV! (Even though I've played it already.) Go go Sakura!

I have a lot of new merchandise to show off, but I'm too lazy to take pictures of them. Maybe next time. :D

Kasugano Sakura in Street Fighter IV!

I was feeling down before making this post... But, this news just cheered me up and made my day! Sakura, my favorite (and usually best) character in Street Fighter (Alpha)/Marvel vs. Capcom is OFFICIALLY confirmed to be in the Home versions of Street Fighter IV! This news pretty much sold the game for me. I'm so excited now! I mean, I was happy that Cammy was to be in it. But Sakura pretty much is the one I'm looking forward to playing as the most. XD

Without Sakura, it wouldn't have been as much fun. Mostly because I wouldn't know who else to play besides Cammy. *nods* Got the article from Wikipedia by the way.

Anywho, I finally started up my Seiyuu Banners... Starting with the wonderful Sawashiro Miyuki! I know, I have a lot more banners, sigs, and avatars I still need to do... But school and stuff do get in the way, as well as what I feel like making at the time. XD

Sawashiro Miyuki Banner
*nods* These are all characters she has played! Including: Chroche Latel Pastalie from Ar tonelico II: Sekai ni Hibiku Shoujo-tachi no Metafalica, Velvet from Odin Sphere, Milanor from Yggdra Union, Shinku from Rozen Maiden, Titil Mimi Nike Mele from Mana-Khemia: Gakuen no Rekinjutsushi-tachi, and Houjou Reika from Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun. :D

Lazy-kun says the sharpness contrast of the renders makes it look bad... So, I need some second opinions on whether I should fix it or not. Thanks!

She's an awesome Seiyuu. She made me like Chroche-sama as much as I do today to be honest! Which is why I am hoping to Goddess Martel that there will be Dual-Audio in Ar tonelico II. Chroche-sama won't be Chroche-sama without Sawashiro Miyuki...

Anywho, yay Sakura in Street Fighter IV, and yay Sawashiro Miyuki!

Summer Gaming Progress: 1% Complete

Well hello, and welcome to my blog. Do you like my banner? It's very dramatic. *ahem* Anywayyy, so my summer goal of beating as many games as possible is going absolutely no where! And darn it, I just realized that Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift just came out today... I was supposed to beat FFT: War of the Lions before it came out! Darn it! Guess I failed that too.

Yes, Final Fantasy Tactics A2, a game I have been looking forward to for quite a while has finally came out in the United States! I personally can't wait to go out and get this game, as I know it will be awesome. I loved the one on the GBA, and I'm sure this one is much better than that one. Although I'm getting more games than actually beating them, there is a bright side to this. As I have miraculously obtained a rare and precious video game that I have been searching for a while. MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 2! ZOMG!

This game has been one that I've loved for quite a long time! I believe it came out on 2002 or something here, and I've played it over the course of my Freshman year in college for a couple months because of one of my super awesome hallmates. And now... I have my own! My favorite character in the game would have to be Kusagano Sakura, the Japanese school girl from street fighter! There's just something about her that I've always liked, as I've been a fan of her since I got Street Fighter Alpha 2 for the SNES when I was a kid.

Anywho, about the 1% completeness, I've finished Super Metroid! Yay! Although it only took me seven hours, and it's not too hard of a game nonetheless, which is pretty much why it only counts as 1% despite me not knowing how many games I need to beat until I get to 100% anyway. xD So whateverz. But yeah, Super Metroid really made me realize how much I loved the series. I need to go beat Prime 1-3 now. THERE NEEDS TO BE A METROID V!
