Okay, so I have recently been very active in the backloggery. It's a fun thing, keeping track of my games and having different themes for my currently favorite games at the time. However, there is a question that has arisen... How do you know when you've "beaten" a fighting game? Is it just when you see the credits like with every other game? But technically that would just mean beating Arcade or Story Mode with just one character, then voila! You have beaten the game. Is it really that simple? Either that... Or is beating the game a lot more difficult and requires beating the game with every character? But doesn't that count towards 100% Completion? In Smash Bros. I could have considered myself beating the game after I've unlocked all the characters and stages. But what if the fighting game doesn't have unlockable characters or stages? It's a mystery... If you guys who still actually visit my blog read this post. Please give me your opinion of when we technically have beaten a fighting game. You can use examples from past experience if you want!
Such is my predicament. With Battle Fantasia and Street Fighter IV, have I already technically beaten them by beating Arcade/Story mode once and seeing the ending credits? Or... Is there something MORE I have to do? In Street Fighter IV, I suppose I could say that I haven't beaten the game yet until I've unlocked Seth, but that would be a very tedious process... The same can be said for Battle Fantasia as well, as I still have The End of Deathbringer to unlock, although he technically won't ever appear on the character select screen as you have to choose him in a certain way after meeting the requirements, which is pretty much beat Story Mode 100% with each character. Which is also a VERY long and tedious process.
Any opinions are welcome. XD
On a different note, I have finally acquired my Atelier Vocal Historia and Tales of the Abyss Image Album! Also, I got my Luca Truelywaath figurine (And still haven't opened it because I'm too afraid to...), Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2, Devil Summoner, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon, Street Fighter IV (The Collector's Edition), and will be getting Star Ocean: The Last Hope once I get back to school.
Yes, Final Fantasy Tactics A2, a game I have been looking forward to for quite a while has finally came out in the United States! I personally can't wait to go out and get this game, as I know it will be awesome. I loved the one on the GBA, and I'm sure this one is much better than that one. Although I'm getting more games than actually beating them, there is a bright side to this. As I have miraculously obtained a rare and precious video game that I have been searching for a while. MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 2! ZOMG!
This game has been one that I've loved for quite a long time! I believe it came out on 2002 or something here, and I've played it over the course of my Freshman year in college for a couple months because of one of my super awesome hallmates. And now... I have my own! My favorite character in the game would have to be Kusagano Sakura, the Japanese school girl from street fighter! There's just something about her that I've always liked, as I've been a fan of her since I got Street Fighter Alpha 2 for the SNES when I was a kid.
Anywho, about the 1% completeness, I've finished Super Metroid! Yay! Although it only took me seven hours, and it's not too hard of a game nonetheless, which is pretty much why it only counts as 1% despite me not knowing how many games I need to beat until I get to 100% anyway. xD So whateverz. But yeah, Super Metroid really made me realize how much I loved the series. I need to go beat Prime 1-3 now. THERE NEEDS TO BE A METROID V!
