So yeahhh~ I wasn't supposed to beat Vesperia last night... But I did! Total accident though... I'm going to try to give the non-spoiler version so everyone can read it... And if I did post spoilers... I'll put them in white text, so you would have to highlight them to read it... >.>;Anywho, I was in the final dungeon... And at the end, right before you go enter the final boss' chamber... A very tall staircase pretty much told us that that was the place the final boss was hiding. However, we had to take a little detour in order to gather all the chests in the dungeon as well as unlock all these little warp elevator things... That I did... And I went through all the puzzles and opened (hopefully) all of the chests! Took me like... 1.5 hours, around there. And yeah, I unlocked the warp elevator thingys... And I was taken back to the entrance of the place...
So I was like, sweet. I can go back to finish up some sidequests... But WAIT! I was supposed to have found a Blue Dice somewhere in there... So I go to one of the warps, thinking it would take me somewhere new... When I go on it... It asks me what level I would like to go to... And of course, I end up picking the highest level, Level 7! Because I thought, hey, why not start at the top? But... As it turns out... The elevators... Were just elevators to get around the dungeon easier... Damn... And Level 7 was... As you probably guessed, the Final Boss' chamber... And guess what? I didn't realize it until the scene started.
Obviously, I started sweating bullets, wondering if I should reset the game or not... But, if I did... Then I would lose all the treasures I had just found and to go through all those stupid ladders and stuff again! I was like... Ugh, I guess I'll just kick his ass and see what happens after the ending... Oh and I should mention that the scenes before the battle differ depending on who your lead character is... Ironically, mine was Raven, because I was having him master Tempest at the time... >.>;
So yeah, I beat his first form... Pretty simple. Then his second form comes out, and EVERY OTHER ATTACK HE DOES PUTS LIKE 100 STATUS EFFECTS ON YOU! RAWR! So yeah, I switched to Yuri automatically at the start of both the first and second battle... But during the second battle, I heard that if you kill him with your Hi-Ougi, then you can get the Last Fencer without having to forge it... But, the AI was being extremely stupid... Estelle wouldn't heal at the right times, and Rita and Raven consitently got their artes sealed... Which was getting quite infuriating. I waited until he got to his 50,000 HP point, since he had like 300,000 that took a bit. But anyway, once I got there, I put Yuri in overlimit... Start comboing... Then wait...
WHY WON'T MY ARTES WORK?! NO! MY ARTES ARE SEALED! *quickly goes to the item menu and uses panacea bottle*
*Starts using Shining Dragon Swarm IMMEDIATELY* And guess what? I didn't make it in time... Well, he was still alive... So I quickly started to use Limit Bottles to get my Overlimit bar up again. I used two, and I got back up to 3 bars. I use the overlimit thinking that he's going to die soon, make sure I don't have sealed artes on me... and start comboing... But the boss... Doesn't stagger... And attacks me... Which costs me more time... And then, I got stunned! ZOMGWTFBBQ! And before I knew it, Raven or Rita beat the boss up and I lost my chance of killing him with Savage Wolf Fury... Rawr. Darn you DUKE! Sorry, had to say his name instead of "Final Boss." Now I have to get the Last Fencer the hard way... By forging it. >.>;
Anywho, the ending was pretty cool... I can't say anymore than that because it's an utter spoiler, unless I highlight it all. But yeah, Duke obviously didn't die, and while Yuri and party were summoning all the spirits to kill the Adephagos, Duke helps out with Dein Nomos! Yuri was just using the Vesperia No. 1 after all, and it was made by Rita, of course that power alone wouldn't be enough to kill the Adephagos... But yay Undine, Sylph, Gnome, and Efreet~ As well as Yuri, Estelle, Repede, Karol, Rita, Raven, and Judith! And I just realized that Repede wasn't in the ending all that much... Poor Repede... ;___; But yeah, I expected a lot more out of the ending... It seems like they somewhat left it opened for a sequel... Terca Lumereis now has the power of spirits and mana instead of Blastia... But how are the people living with their new lives? That I wonder... What the heck are Yuri and Co. doing afterwards? Although they had little illustrations during the credits, it didn't explain too much except that they eventually all gathered together in the end again... But yeah. I LOVED this game...
And I love it even more now... Because they made New Game EX a totally different option! In Tales of Symphonia and Tales of the Abyss and Tales of Legendia... You would have to reload your last save in order to open up New Game+. However, in Vesperia, you can open your clear game save and continue on with EVERYTHING you got after saving before the final boss, which for me was like 1.5 hours. So I was forgiven for my mistake of accidentally walking up to the final boss... Thank you Tales of Vesperia, you are now officially my favorite Tales game. All the characters are great anyway, so me being saved from losing 1.5 hours of final dungeon completion just added more love.
And yeah, I only fought him in two forms... There's still the supposedly super hard third form... I got all of the Fell Arms that were NOT in the Final Dungeon before I actually went and explored it... And found the last two there. I kind of wanted to fight the boss without fighting his third form first... And if I had gone out of the dungeon after activating the elevator warp thingies, I would have had to fight the final boss for the first time with it's super hard third form because I would have had seen the scene with the party saying that we got all the Fell Arms, and that wouldn't have been very fun... Considering I was already somewhat frustrated with the second form... But yeah, due to my accident, I guess I did end up fighting him without his uber third form after all. The next time I fight him though... It will be with it. I'm apparently super overleveled anyway... So... After some more sidequesting, it probably shouldn't be too difficult. Although level 80 probably isn't too overleveled for the super secret third form.
I went on wayyy too long about this... Longest blog post I ever made? >.>; Maybe... And oops, I put more spoilers than I thought... Hopefully I didn't spoil anything in the non-highlighted text... /swt
