Odin Sphere

Wow, I can't believe how awesome Odin Sphere is! I just got it today and it's such a thrill to play. Haha, I still feel excited about the game even though I only went through the first chapter! This game is very difficult to me. Haha, took me like 4 or 5 tries to beat the first boss Dragon. I was like, damn I keep losing, but I was never frustrated! It was actually fun trying to beat it until I actually did! Gwendolyn is an awesome character. I just met her in game and I find her very interesting. I feel sorry for Griselda, Gwen's sister though. She died in the very first scene of the game. I was surprised to find that the game was very fun to play and also very story driven. Five playable characters makes it feel a lot more worthwhile for me to buy as well. I was debating with myself for quite a while of whether or not to buy this. I did and I don't regret it, I love the game so far, even though it's still only the beginning. Haha, I can't wait until I can control everyone else! Cornelius looks fun to be, and Mercedes and Velvet look fun as well. Not sure about Oswald though, not really into the whole badass-male anti-hero character, though I'm pretty sure Connie-sama would probably love him since she does like those kinds of characters. Haha. This game is making me consider getting GrimGrimoire as well, but it's a different game by the same company called Vanillaware. It's an RTS, which is odd for a 2-D game, but it looks fun nonetheless. I need to beat Tales of Legendia still though, haha. I think I'll go do that after I finish blogging up VanillaWare also concocted up a game very similar to Odin Sphere on the PSP, though it came out before Odin Sphere so, Odin Sphere is like the "spiritual sequel" to it. I believe they made it on the Saturn first and then ported it to the PSP. People are trying to rally and get it to be released here, but I'm not sure if that would happen, besides, it would just tempt me even more to get a PSP, which is bad.

I like the fact that the game is story-driven. I like that about games, that's part of the reason why I love RPGs so much. The stories and the characters usually peak my interest and that's part of the reason why I believe a game is one of the best ones ever. Atelier Iris had that effect on me as well as Tales of Symphonia. Also, I don't play enough games that have Valkyries and Norse Mythology in them. It would be nice to learn more about mythologies and stuff. Maybe I should have stopped my cousin from selling Valkyrie Profile, I might have wanted to play it although the voices kind of bugged me a bit. I like Valkyries though, ever since Fire Emblem had that class, even though they weren't real Valkyries. Sophitia also piqued my interest in them, and now that interest has rekindled with Odin Sphere. Gwen is just awesome. I love playing as her in the game. Haha, it's so fun just running around and slashing those evil woman fairies and soldiers. Though I'm not entirely used to the whole fighting in Odin Sphere yet, hopefully I'll get used to it soon and start thinking more strategically so I don't have to fight the same boss over and over and using up so many items. Haha. I think the only reason I really did take so long to beat that dragon, Belgius or something, I should look up it's name, but I'm too lazy right now. Oops I diverted my sentence. Anywho I think the only reason it took to kill it was because I didn't plan anything out enough, I used up so many items and I was kind of afraid to attack it head on because of it's stupid sucking things in and chewing them before he spits it out. That was the most evil attack it had really. Also it's little fairy reinforcements were annoying, but they were fun to kill nonetheless. I really can't wait to be able to control the other characters, haha. I wonder if I'll be any better at using them than Gwen. Unfortunately, I think we can only be them one at a time until the Final Chapter. Which is alright, it forces me to be all the characters at least once, so it's fine with me. Well, I really should be going to beat Tales of Legendia now, I'm so close! Just a few more bosses and then I fight Schwartz and it's over! Until next time. :D
